1980: Iran-Iraq War

Long-standing border disputes and political turmoil in Iran prompt Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to launch an invasion of Iran’s oil-producing province of Khuzestan. After initial advances, the Iraqi offence was repulsed. In 1982, Iraq voluntarily withdrew and sought a peace agreement, but the Ayatollah Khomeini renewed fighting. Stalemates and the deaths of thousands of young Iranian conscripts in Iraq followed. Population centres in both countries were bombed, and Iraq employed the use of chemical weapons. Quite a ride.....

i have loved the word enigma since the day i knew its meaning...

looking at the stars having a momentary lapse of senses

last bits of fallen leaves swept away in the wind

the glory of the marching ants around the bowl of sugar

the slow motion moments of fantasy movies with happy endings

all the fog when on a tour to a hill station

dark room with rusted sky blue doors with flickering lights and the aura of wet walls

learning something new about things you thought you knew completely

pink floyd

the file of stamps half arranged

the coins no more taken care of since the 8th grade

stupid nostalgia

an n70 that works for a good 3 and half months after tasting the salts of the bay of bengal

and an n81 which goes on a tour to chennai less than a week after its

 purchase......

well lets just say lifes full of ups and downs and i am enjoying the q

uirky ride (:
